Asbestos comprises tiny fibres that can be inhaled when airborne, leading to serious illness. The fibres are made airborne when the asbestos is disturbed. Therefore, asbestos must be identified and handled carefully with the proper personal protective equipment (PPE). The health risks of asbestos are so severe that the UK banned its use in 1999.

Learn more about the dangers of asbestos in our handy online guide.

Minimising asbestos exposure is vital as disturbing asbestos can lead to health conditions for those working with the material. Millions of buildings and facilities across the UK contain the material meaning employees across various industries risk potential exposure to Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs). Therefore, proper asbestos training is essential to determining the presence of asbestos. Asbestos sampling enables workers to understand the materials they are working with and navigate the risks accordingly.

There are many advantages to working with our dedicated team of experts. We were the UK’s first independent asbestos training provider and are experienced in all areas of asbestos management. In addition to our highly qualified asbestos training providers, we have a support team available through phone or email. With NATAS, you will always receive the highest levels of training and support.

I recently completed the P405 training package with NATAS Training Provider, and I must say that it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The training was comprehensive, well-structured, and delivered with a level of expertise that exceeded my expectations. The trainer at NATAS was not only knowledgeable but also passionate about ensuring that every participant understood the content thoroughly. They went above and beyond to create a supportive learning environment and were always available to answer questions and provide guidance. The training materials provided were top-notch, and the practical exercises were extremely valuable in solidifying my understanding of the subject matter. I feel well-prepared and confident thanks to the training I received from NATAS. I would highly recommend NATAS Training Provider to anyone looking to advance their skills and knowledge. Thank you, NATAS, for a fantastic training experience!

First course I have been on where the tutor was not caught out at all over a five day period! Very knowledgeable. The course itself is packed full of information. I passed but even if I hadn't, I gained the kind of knowledge I needed to manage Asbestos in any work environment.

Patrick and his team were able to get me on a P402 course at very short notice and even assisted with accommodation and parking queries. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and worked easily with all of the students on the course, despite the varying ranges of experience and ability. Having not been on any training courses for a number of years, I was slightly anxious going into it. However, the instructor managed to create a relaxed atmosphere, whilst moving through the course content at a steady rate. All in all, a great experience and very informative course - I would recommend it to any one working in the construction industry and only wish i'd completed it 10 years ago!

I recently completed the P405 course and subsequently passed the exam with a high pass mark. For someone who does not have much dealing with asbestos (only minimal awareness) the course pre read materials settled a lot of nerves and equipped me well. They are sent out well in advance- the more you use them the easier the course. I had heard the course was quite demanding however by utilising the pre read material, speaking to Patrick @ NATAS who offered sound advice and guidance the course ran very smoothly and the tutor was brilliant- highly experienced, a great communicator who alsobrokenup the sessions with some humour. The course was not rushed and the tutor took on additional questions using his experience to help make the key pieces of info stick and was not rushing anyone out the door. The venue was clean, tidy, easily accessible and has free parking. The food and drinks provided were plentiful. The course is high value compared to its cost- there are more expensive courses out their however I'd query if you'd receive the same quality learning experience elsewhere. I felt comfortable sitting the exams and would highly recommend NATAS to anyone looking to gain competence in the asbestos sector. 2 of my colleagues are now looking to enrol. Thanks again and I wish Patrick and the team all the success going forward.
