Welcome to this course on respirable crystalline silica awareness. Respirable crystalline silica (RCS) is the name given to silica dust particles that can be breathed into the lungs. Exposure to RCS can be harmful to your health, and even fatal.

This course will provide you with an overview of RCS and the best practices for identifying, controlling, and staying safe around it. It can be used as an introductory course or to refresh your existing knowledge.

What is the pass mark for the assessment?

To complete the course and pass the assessment successfully, you must meet the minimum pass mark of 80%. 

Delegates must obtain 80% to pass the course online, equivalent to 2 wrong answers. Any delegates that did not obtain 80% have three attempts to resit and pass the course. Failing to pass the course after three attempts mean the delegate must purchase an additional license to be able to try again and be awarded a manual handling certificate.

Course timing

This course will take approximately 45 minutes to complete.
The course is designed to follow and complete each section before moving to the next. Students can go back and review completed sections at any time.
